Virgo-Pisces: Two Aspects of Same Energy

Virgo-ushers-in-New-AgeThe sign, Virgo, is the major key to the shifting of our consciousness into the new age. As any woman would attest to and any parent for that matter, one of the most momentous changes in a life is the birth of a child. In the case of the symbolism of Virgo, that shift represents giving full expression to the spiritual fire within you.

The movement of the precession of the equinoxes is a slow shift over centuries. This represents a type of “dial” for the Earth school pointing to the lessons to be learned by humanity during any given era.

This dial has been moving backward through the sign Pisces for about 2000 years and represents the Piscean era. This era had its emphasis on religion.

We are currently in the transition period between the Piscean age and the Aquarian age. The Aquarian age will be highlighted by independent scientific thinking, spiritual freedom and the recognition that humanity and the planet Earth are a unified whole.

Virgo is most important at this time because it is the opposite pole of Pisces. The opposite signs are two aspects of the same energy. As the precession of the equinoxes shifts from Pisces to Aquarius, Virgo, which rules the form, is preparing the new forms for the new age.

The keynote that expresses this idea is “Virgo hides the light that irradiates the World in Aquarius.” The beauty of this and the mystery of it is that we, as individuals, give birth to the new Age of Aquarius by shining our light in our everyday encounters.

This shift into the new age is creating major upheaval throughout the world politically, financially and environmentally. How we respond to these upheavals is critical to the future of humanity.

When you respond to a crisis with courage instead of fear, when you choose to express enthusiasm for life instead of self pity, when you look someone in the eye with understanding and kindness instead of criticism, you are helping to give birth to the new age.

Michael, your last paragraph is the perfect summary of the failure of our national leadership on 9/11/2001 and the years following. As a nation we responded (reacted) with fear and wasted an opportunity for reflection and growth and for building upon the goodwill directed towards us after the tragic attacks. The consequences of responding with fear are now well known: We have lost our position of moral leadership and economic well-being. Rather than being a nation united and prosperous we have the opposite.

When we view this through the challenges of Virgo that you describe we see 9/11/01 as a vivid test of its energies. Thank you for putting this in a different context that may still give the chance for transition to higher consciousness. Although we may have failed the Virgo test a decade ago, we may yet be able to give birth to what it promises for humanity.

I am a curious Virgo Michael. Why is it that Virgo hides the light?
“Virgo hides the light that irradiates the World in Aquarius.”

That’s very well said Richard. The United States has Neptune in Virgo. It seems that we need a new spiritual vision for this country in order to give birth to our greatest possibilities and survive this major crisis.

Hiding the light is nourishing and protecting it as a Mother protects a child.
