Today, July 11, 2010 at 2:42 PM CDT, there will be a total solar eclipse at the time of the new moon. A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon gets between the sun and the earth, blocking out all of the sun.
This is indicative of the form, or form attachment, blocking out the light of the Soul.
In the book, AUM #366, M.M. writes that “psychic energy reacts singularly to a solar eclipse.”
In the book, Letters of Helena Roerich II, p. 407, she writes, “It is interesting to observe that during eclipses the activity of psychic energy is greatly decreased, and at the very moment of the full eclipse, it almost ceases.”
Therefore, at the time of a total solar eclipse, in particular, we need to go within and draw upon our own spiritual resources. Upon awakening I had this thought that we can concentrate at this time on radiating joy! This can act as a healing and protection for humanity.
In Torkom Saraydarian’s wonderful writings on joy, which appears in several of his books, he states that
Joy gives courage, inspiration and vision. It purifies heals and sanctifies. ….Joy is the alchemical stone. It is the Path to Life, to Love, to Light. It is the magnetism of the Sun.

At this time when the light of the Sun is being blocked out, through joy, we can BE the magnetism of the Sun.
I recommend, at the time of the solar eclipse, to raise up your hands and radiate joy from your heart, and see joy spreading throughout the world.
