World Invocation Day
In 1945, the Tibetan Master, Djwhal Khul, gave to humanity a “World Invocation” to be used by people from all walks of life, in all religions and in all cultures.
The beauty and strength of this Invocation lies in its simplicity and in its expression of certain central truths:
- A basic Intelligence to Whom we vaguely give the name of God exists;
- The motivating power of the universe is Love;
- A great Individuality, the Christ, the embodiment of Love, came to Earth so that humanity could understand this all-pervading truth;
- That love and intelligence are effects of the Will of God;
- That only through Humanity can the divine Plan work out.
The Great Invocation*
From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men –
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.
Using this Invocation will cause powerful changes in one’s attitude, character and life intentions. Your illuminated mind will slowly transmute the mist of illusion and the heavy coat of ignorance, and you will become an active participant in the laws of righteousness.
Your spiritual aspiration and sincerity, when using this invocation, will pave the way to peace on Earth and goodwill toward all.
As you study the Invocation you will notice that the three major centers in our planet are linked: Shamballa, “where the Will of God is known,” the Hierarchy, where the Christ, the Head of the Hierarchy, oversees closer contact with humanity, and the “center” which we call Humanity.
It is only Humanity, through its expression of goodwill, that the divine Plan will be restored and, through the upsurge in Christ consciousness, that the reappearance of the Christ will occur. In reality, Christ never left the Earth.
“Lo, I am with you always, even until the end of the days.”
Secondly, “disciples everywhere will find themselves increasingly sensitive to His quality, His voice and His teaching; they will be “overshadowed” by Him in many cases, just as before, He overshadowed His disciple Jesus; through this overshadowing of disciples in all lands, He will duplicate Himself repeatedly. (emphasis added) The effectiveness and the potency of the overshadowed disciple will be amazing. (Discipleship in the New Age, Vol. II, Bailey, Alice A., Lucis Trust, pp. 165–171.)
The Great Invocation relates the will of the Father (or of Shamballa), the love of the Hierarchy and the service of Humanity into one great triangle of energies.
The Great Invocation was sent forth at the full moon of Gemini. Gemini reveals duality. The triangle of energies stand between two great forces — the pillars representing divine vs. human and spiritual vs. material interests.
The use of the Great Invocation over the past 63+ years changed the pattern of the etheric web that surrounds the planet from squares to triangles and has paved the way for the reappearance of the Christ.
The World Wide Web is proof positive that the invocative appeal of humanity has been heard.
We are told that when squares become triangles, we will see the dawn of a new age.

*Lucis Trust, publishers of all the Tibetan Master’s works dictated to Alice A. Bailey, adapted slightly the Great Invocation to accommodate two words that were sources of misunderstanding: man and Christ.
“The word ‘man’ comes from Sanskrit and means ‘one who thinks’, but in the modern mind this word is viewed as sexist and exclusive. ‘Christ’, unfortunately, too often is viewed as the sole province of Christianity and not relevant to people of other religions or of no particular religion.”
